Choose and plan your installation

Plan bird exclusion around the actual opening

Identify the target birds, the paths they use and the complete perimeter to be enclosed. Mesh selection must be matched to the target species and the proposed installation.

Assessment checklist

• Balcony, window, duct or AC-ledge dimensions and access.
• Fixing surfaces, perimeter gaps and adjoining openings.
• Cleaning, maintenance and equipment service access.
• A pre-installation check for birds or active nests; do not trap wildlife.

Comparing options

Netting encloses an opening; ledge deterrents address specific perching surfaces. Ask for the proposed layout, mesh specification, fixing details, inspection plan and written scope. Bird netting is not a child or pet fall-safety system.
